Training and Education – Frederik has directed several family movies, including the animated films, “The Quest For Camelot,” “Racing Stripes” (which he also wrote), and Universal’s smash hit, “The Land Before Time: The Time of the Great Giving;” and the live-action “Underdog” for Disney. In the process, he has worked with many of Hollywood’s top actors such as Dustin Hoffman, Whoopi Goldberg Amy Adams, Jason Lee, Hayden Pannetiere, Jim Belushi and Peter Dinklage. Frederik was one of the first to pioneer a unique look that turns live-action footage into two-dimensional graphic pictures for “Stripped,” a TV pilot he directed, based on a graphic novel and which starred Marisa Tomei (the same technique that was later used to great effect in “Sin City”). He has also drawn and developed his own series of books, and his graphic novel work was recently recognized at the prestigious Angoulême International Comics Festival, the largest in Europe.
